We at Competition Guru have been helping students achieve their dream of becoming an IAS officer. We know exactly what it takes to be selected and we offer a comprehensive range of services to help our students succeed. Our aim is simple: we want to make sure that all our students are prepared and able to pass with flying colors. Our coaching for UPSC and IAS starts with preparing you for your preliminary exams, which is where most people falter. From there, we take you through mock mains, often during actual exam time, so that you get an idea of how long each section will take and can focus on which areas require extra attention in order to speed up your results. Once you’re done with prelims, mains come next – and we’ll provide training for these too. Students who do well in prelims usually do very well in mains as well because they’ve already had experience going through live papers; getting lots of practice under your belt leads to confidence, which shows when you appear for final interviews or answer tough questions asked by officers conducting recruitment tests. Syllabus and Exam Pattern of IAS exam?
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts two examinations to fill up IAS vacancies. The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination and Civil Services (Main) Examination, also known as Main Examination. The syllabus is designed by UPSC and updated every year, however, each of the participating Institutes has a freedom to design their own course content to make it better suit their learners. Hence at some institutes you may find a little variation in course contents for Prelims and Mains examinations. However, there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ content – it all depends on your learning style and which one helps you pass better. In addition to pre-requisite papers that are mandatory for everyone aspiring to appear for exam, UPSC has decided not to introduce negative marking system from January 2018 onwards. However, candidates must ensure that they score at least 33% marks in aggregate of these compulsory papers in order qualify further to reach mains level test. Candidates can choose either Hindi or English mediums while appearing for preliminary examination held across country except Jammu & Kashmir state where exam is conducted only in English medium.Join Competition Guru for best IAS coaching in Chandigarh.
