NVS Exam
The NVS is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Resource Development, Government of India, responsible to recruit teachers for the JNVs across India. The full form of NVS is Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and the full form of JNV is Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) conducts the NVS exam to shortlist candidates for various posts such as TGT, PGT, Principal and other non-teaching posts. It is mandatory to pass the CTET exam to be eligible for the NVS exam (only for TGT). The NVS 2021 exam is conducted for the recruitment of 2370 teaching and non-teaching posts available in schools under Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
The recruitment notification related to the post of PGT, TGT, Creative Teachers, and FCSA (Faculty cum System Administrator) vacancies on a contractual basis has been announced by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The NVS exam pattern generally consists of a written test and an interview. The candidates will be picked for the post through their performance in the interview (conducted virtually).

What is the Educational Qualification under NVS exam Eligibility Criteria 2020-21?
Eligibility Criteria for NVS PGT Posts
- A PG program from Regional College of Education of NCERT OR From any other NCTE recognized university / Institute. Also, only those candidates who have obtained minimum 50% marks in total can apply.
- Having a B. Ed degree is not mandatory for those who have four years integrated degree from the Regional College of Education of NCERT or other NCTE recognized institutes. OR
- Master Degree from a recognized University with 50% marks.
Eligibility Criteria for NVS TGT Posts
- A four years integrated degree from a Regional College of Education of NCERT with minimum 50% marks in the prescribed subject. Also, the aggregate score must not be less than 50% OR a bachelor’s honours Degree with minimum of 50% marks. Candidates must have studied the required subject for a minimum of 2 years in their 3 years degree course. OR
- Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks in the concerned subject. The candidate should have studied the requisite subjects in all three years of degree.
Eligibility Criteria for NVS FCSA Posts
- E/ BCA/B.Tech/ Degree with Diploma, CTET.
- Candidates working in the government or government-aided residential school will be given preference.
Eligibility Criteria for NVS Creative Teachers
- Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English Languages to teach in both languages.
- Teaching experience in a similar capacity in a residential school.
- Knowledge of Computer Application
