SSC conducts this exam every year to recruit fresh graduates for various positions in different Ministries and Departments of India and its subordinate offices. The Staff Selection Committee conducts the SSC CGL exam for Grade B and Grade C category positions in different ministries and departments of the Central Government. The candidates must qualify each level to go to the next one. The candidates are also required to meet certain physical fitness requirement for the post of Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Sub-Inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency). The minimum age limit for SSC CGL is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 32 years. For visually handicapped candidates, the exam hours is 2 hours and 40 minutes.
