HTET Exams:

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted annually for those candidates who want to make their career in Government Schools which are recognized by the Department of School Education. These tests are conducted so as to promote the best faculty in the field of education. These tests are conducted in two modes, online and offline and in 3 levels.

Online mode is the computer based test while offline is the written test.

The three levels are primarily designed for the benefit of the candidates where they have the choice to select which class they want to teach. These are namely:

  • Paper 1: Primary Teacher ( candidate who wants to teach from classes I to V)
  • Paper 2: TGT – Trained Graduate Teacher (candidate who wants to teach from classes VI to VIII)
  • Paper 3: PGT (candidates who want to become a Post Graduate Teacher)

Minimum Eligibility

Paper 1: Primary Teacher (Class I – V)

  • Candidates should have passed Secondary education (or its equivalent) with 45% marks
  • Passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Candidates who has passed two-year Diploma in Elementary Education / four years B.El.Ed  / two-year Diploma in Education in Special Education

Level 2: Trained Graduate Teacher – Class VI to VII

  • Candidates who have completed Bachelor Degree (B.Sc./B.A./B.Com etc.) with two years D.Ed./ B.Ed. (appearing or passed)
  • 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education) With 50 percent in BA or B.Sc (appearing or passed)

Level 3: Post Graduate teacher: Class IX to XII

  • Candidate should have passed their Post Graduate (PG) Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university (one of the subjects should compulsorily be Hindi)
