IBPS SO 2018:

What is IBPS SO?
Institute of Banking Personnel is in short known as IBPS and this is a portal which hires skilled bank aspirants for public banks in the country as banking sector is the most prominent and competitive sector in the country. IBPS conducts exams for all the public banks in India except state banks (SBI).

Roles and Career of SO:
A Specialist Officer is a bit appreciating role among banking sector. A Specialist Officer can be in different departments of a bank. Let us see the roles of a SO in various departments.
IBPS SO IT Officer:
This officer is responsible to manage the data and maintain it. Developing and modifying softwares, taking care of network software, in simple terms, he is the one who does all the technical stuff in the bank and also manages the entire IT team in the bank.
IBPS SO Agriculture Officer:
He is the one who manages the rural area banks understanding the needs and requirements of the people and especially farmers. Understanding the financial needs and make them understand the banking procedure in simple terms and letting them know the latest schemes of government includes their roles and responsibilities.
IBPS SO Rajbhasha Adhikari:
An officer who is responsible to translate the important documents of the bank which are circulated across in regional or native language. Training the bank personnel to communicate with the regional people and is the one who makes sure all the important documents are translated in Hindi and English language.
IBPS SO Law Officer:
He is responsible to handle all the legal affairs of the bank. The one who monitors the assistance and keeps the authenticity of bank documents becomes a IBPS SO Law Officer.
IBPS SO HR/ Personnel Officer:
The one who involves in recruitment process, studies all the human resources policies and implement them when needed. He is the officer who handles misconduct and wrongdoing cases and escalates to the superiors.
IBPS SO Marketing Officer:
This officer brings new business to the bank, he is the one who promotes the bank via marketing and the one who handles banks advertisements in newspapers, online and wherever possible.
A Specialist Officer has more responsibilities compared to a PO or a clerk. Hence it is a crucial role for a bank to select. All these officers will be leading and managing their particular teams in their own fields.
IBPS SO 2018 gave a latest notification about he exam dates and the number of positions available to hire skilled bankers.

Apply for the IBPS SO role from 6th Nov to 26th Nov, 2018. The application fee to apply is for 600 INR.
As it is known and understood, every IBPS exam has two categories, Preliminary and mains. In recruiting a SO, banks conduct an interview for the candidate who qualifies both prelims and mains.
The eligibility criteria for a SO officer is vast as it differs from department to department. But there are common eligibilities for all the departments of a SO.
- Age of the candidate should be in between 20 and 30
- Candidate should be graduated academically in their roles i.e; an IT officer should be graduated in Btech.
- Should be a resident of India (Citizenship).

IBPS SO has three stages i.e;
- Prelims for 150 Marks
- Mains for 60 marks
For those who pass prelims and mains, they will be eligible for the interview.
Syllabus for prelims (for all roles) :
This is the first round and this exam is conducted on 29th and 30th Dec, 2018. Maximum marks for this exam is 150.

Cut off marks would be released after each phase of exam conducted.
